There are so many different threats to the family. Many of these threats not only hurt the family but they also can harm the children. One of the things that can greatly harm children is divorce.
Divorce has become increasingly common in today's world. Because it is so common, everybody probably knows someone who has been affected by divorce in some way or another. Growing up, I knew of many people who were directly affected by divorce or were affected by divorce "second-hand". The effects of divorce are always worse for children. The effects of divorce have the potential to be short-term. However, in many cases, the effects of divorce on children are long-term.
To demonstrate the negative effects of divorce, I want to share the story of my cousin's divorce. My cousin has two daughters, who at the time, were under the age of ten. One of the things that can happen during a divorce is that one parent can turn against the other. When this happens, one parent talks badly about the other to the children. This hurts the children by causing them to turn against the other parent. This is exactly what happened to my cousin. My cousin's ex-wife turned their daughters against him. This has ruined those little girls. They have become depressed and want nothing to do with my cousin or any of his family. This is one example of how divorce negatively affects children.
There are some cases where a divorce is a good thing. An example of this is my own father's divorce and the effect that it had on my both my father and my older brother and sister. My father was married to a woman who was very abusive to both him and his two children. In this case, a divorce was necessary in order to protect his children. There are still some negative effects that occur because of the divorce. This is one situation, where, a divorce was a good thing.
Many people are waiting a lot longer to get married and many are getting married at all. When they do get married and they decide that their marriage is not working, they can get a divorce fairly easily. It has become easier to achieve a divorce through the "No fault divorce" clause. Many people see a divorce as an easy way out of a relationship that they do not see as worth trying to save. However, they should try to to work things our and try to improve their relationships. There are many resources available to do this.
